Founded in 2021, La Grande Évasion is an independent general bookshop open all year round in La Gacilly. It stocks around 6,000 titles and also offers a wide range of stationery, illustrations and unique items.

In 2026, La Grande Évasion will expand to become the Festival bookshop: located behind the Information Point and Tourist Office, this seasonal bookshop will showcase guest artists, photography in the broadest sense and, more generally, themes that are dear to the Photo Festival. A carefully selected sample of French publishing diversity!

In June & September:

Monday: closed
Tuesday: 2pm to 6.30pm
Wednesday to Sunday: 11am to 1pm • 2pm to 6.30pm

From 13 July to 31 August:

Monday and Tuesday: 2pm to 6.30pm
Wednesday to Sunday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. • 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

From 1 to 6 October: 

Monday and Tuesday: closed
Wednesday to Sunday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. • 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m
