- What are the dates and opening hours of the Festival?
The 23rd edition of the La Gacilly Photo Festival will take place from 1 June to 4 October 2026.
The Welcome Desk & Shop located on Place de la Ferronnerie is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Is admission to the Festival free?
Yes, admission to the Festival is completely free.
Guided tours and workshops are subject to a fee and require booking. Book a tour.
A free event of this scale needs friends. Every contribution helps us to maintain a festival that is free for all to enjoy and to showcase the best of outdoor photography. Support the Festival.
- Are animals permitted on the Festival site?
Yes, animals on a lead are permitted, provided they do not disturb the facilities or the works on display.
- What should you do if you lose or find an item?
Found items can be handed in at the Welcome Desk & Shop located at Place de la Ferronnerie. Valuables are taken to La Gacilly Town Hall once a week. Other items are kept until the end of the season and then taken to a recycling centre.
- Is the Festival accessible to people with reduced mobility?
Parking spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility are available in various car parks around the city. Seating is provided in most exhibition galleries for visitors who tire easily. Only the Jardin Saint-Vincent exhibition is not accessible.
Wheelchairs can be borrowed from the Welcome Desk & Shop located on Place de la Ferronnerie: open 7 days a week from 10:00 to 19:00. It is advisable to book in advance by telephone on 02 99 08 68 00. A disabled access map is available at the Welcome Desk & Shop, the Tourist Office and the Gacilienne pharmacy.
- Where can I park to attend the Festival? Are the car parks free?
Several free car parks are available around the village of La Gacilly. However, the car parks closest to Place de la Ferronnerie, Parking de la Fabrique and Maison Yves Rocher are pay-and-display.
- Is there public transport to get to the Festival?
Yes, the Festival is accessible by train to Redon, located 15 km from La Gacilly. Shuttle buses are then available to take you to the village (Rue du Bout du Pont stop). You can also consider carpooling or renting electric bikes. Check out all the transport options and timetables at this link.

- Where can we have a picnic with a group? Where can we have lunch if it rains?
The Festival provides dedicated picnic areas on Place de la Ferronnerie, subject to availability. The steps by the river behind the Welcome Desk & Shop are also freely accessible and can accommodate groups.
In case of rain, large groups can hire a covered room from La Gacilly Town Hall. Please contact them to check availability.
- How are photographers selected?
The programme is entirely curated by exhibition curator Cyril Drouhet. The Festival does not issue calls for applications for its main exhibitions. However, we invite you to submit your work to contact@festivalphoto-lagacilly.com
- Can we come as a group or organise a visit?
Yes, the Festival offers various options for group visits, subject to booking and availability. Find all the information and booking details at this link.
- What happens to the photos after the Festival?
Some photos are kept, archived and sometimes put back into circulation or made available to municipalities and associations in Morbihan. Some of the photos exhibited during the current programme are sent to the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival in Austria the following year. The rest of the prints are returned to the producer for recycling.
